Park City School District provides professional driver education courses to high school students who attend school or live within our district boundaries.
We offer a comprehensive program that includes your online Utah driver's license curriculum, behind-the-wheel training with certified instructors, and the final road skills test. Our licensed professionals will safely guide you through every milestone of obtaining your license.
Obtain Your Learner's Permit
Before you can begin any behind-the-wheel lessons, you must possess a valid Utah learner's permit. To receive your permit, you must be at least 15 years old and pass the official written knowledge test at a physical Utah Driver License Division (DLD) office.
Register & Complete Online Coursework
Select the course package on our portal that fits your student's progress. We offer a Full Package as well as a standalone Behind-the-Wheel Only package if the student has already completed an approved driver education program elsewhere.
Please note: The PCHS classroom curriculum is conducted entirely online and consists of completing both the StreetSmarts modules and the AAA Online Coursework. Both components must be completed to satisfy the state classroom requirement.
Complete Your Behind-the-Wheel Lessons
Learn to drive from patient, state-certified instructors across a diverse variety of road environments. Scheduling access depends on your registration type:
• Full Package students: Your online scheduling module will automatically unlock once your online StreetSmarts and AAA coursework is 100% completed and passed.
• Behind-the-Wheel Only students: Your online scheduling module will be activated upon verification of your completed external coursework credits.
State Law Reminder: The State of Utah requires teen drivers to practice an additional 40 hours (including 10 hours at night) with a parent or guardian. Your guardian will sign off on this completion directly at the DLD office.
Take the Road Skills Test
After successfully fulfilling your driver education theory requirements (either via our PCHS online courses or an approved transfer program) and finishing all certified instructor drives, you will take your final road examination with our team. Once passed, your official scores are transmitted immediately to the state database so you can schedule your licensing appointment at the DLD!
